
5-Ingredient Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting Is A Holiday Favorite
Lemon cream cheese frosting is a fuss-free way to add extra flavor and tang to a classic dessert topping. Traditional cream cheese frosting is tangy and creamy, thanks to cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar. For a bit more brightness, this recipe adds lemon zest and lemon juice.
This is a soft frosting, perfect for spreading over a sheet cake or topping crisp cookies. If you use it for a layer cake, reduce the lemon juice to 1 Tbsp. so it’s a little more firm, or chill the cake before adding the second layer so it doesn’t spread everywhere once the weighty top tier is placed.
