Morgan Freeman to honour late co-star Gene Hackman at 2025 Oscars
Morgan Freeman is going to honour the late Gene Hackman during the 97th annual Academy Awards on March 2.
On March 1, a source close to late actor spilled to TMZ that Morgan will be paying tribute to his Unforgiven co-star in memoriam segment.
Morgan and Gene haad worked together in the 1992 classic movie, which earned the late actor his second Oscar award.
Later, in 2000, both stars once again appeared together in thriller movie, Under Suspicion — one of Gene’s final movies before stepping away from Hollywood in 2004.
The source shared that the late actor’s family will not attend the Oscar ceremony.
Last week, it was reported that Gene and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s “mummified remains were found by two maintenance workers on Wednesday at their $3.3 million mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico,” per DailyMail.com.
It is also pertinent to note that the official’s search warrant revealed that the “death of the two deceased individuals to be suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation”.
Although the toxicology reports were still pending, the medical examiner had confirmed that both individuals tested negative for carbon monoxide exposure.
Earlier in 2004 interview with CNN, Gene opened up that he was scared of death as he wanted to be a provider for his family.
At the time, the actor stated, “I try to take care of myself. I don’t have a lot of fears; I have the normal fear of passing away.”
“I guess we all think about that, especially when you get to be a certain age. I want to make sure that my wife and my family are taken care of,” remarked Superman actor.
Meanwhile, Gene had three children from his former marriage.
