Millie Bobby Brown has recently spilled her real intention behind her decision to call out media criticism over her appearance.

The Stranger Things star expressed her gratitude for the support she received from her fans and young girls all over the world for posting a now-viral video where she slammed media critics accusing her for ageing badly.

“I’m happy that people were able to resonate with the video,” said the 21-year-old while speaking to host Savannah Guthrie on Today.

Millie noted, “It’s not just for people in the industry, it’s for young girls all over the world who feel like they are targeted or harassed at times for the way they look or the way they present themselves.”

However, the Enola Holmes actress also realised that if she didn’t say it now, she would never find a good time to say it therefore she thought why wait, just do it now.

When Savannah asked about the aftermath of the clip, Millie shared she “shut” her phone off after posting her clip.

The Damsel actress revealed that she “was little overwhelmed”.

“But again, I’m so happy people were able to feel like they connected with the video,” mentioned Millie.

Interestingly, the actress added, “It was a scary thing to do. I didn’t know how people were going to react so it’s nice to see that reaction.”

For the unversed, Millie joined the entertainment industry at the age of nine with her first acting role on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Later, she rose to fame with her breakout role on Stranger Things.

Last week, the actress posted a video on Instagram where she lashed out at media stories for bullying her over her looks.
