Meghan Markle Channeled Audrey Hepburn in This Idyllic Instagram Post
It seems that Meghan Markle is spending the weekend in one of her favorite places—her idyllic Montecito garden. And apparently, she’s channeling some old Hollywood glamour while she’s at it.
In a new post on the official Instagram of her upcoming brand, As Ever, Markle shared a photo of herself in her garden picking lemons from a tree, while wearing a simple midi chambray sundress and a wide-brimmed white hat to keep the California sun out of her eyes. She wore her hair in a low bun and accessorized with a gold necklace and a couple of gold bracelets. Alongside the photo, she shared a quote by Audrey Hepburn in the caption: “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”
Markle has frequently drawn style comparisons to Hepburn in the past—she wore Givenchy to her wedding (and on numerous other occasions) in a seeming nod to the iconic Hollywood actress’s partnership with the fashion house and, in 2017, she even had a Hepburn-inspired brow makeover.

Markle’s passion for gardening is on full display in her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which sees the duchess preparing meals and creating homespun foodie offerings from her personal garden for her inner circle of friends. As she explained in the sixth episode of the series, “I love feeding people. I think it’s probably my love language.” And fruit is a big part of her gardening routine—as she says on the show, it has become a “daily task”.
But gardening isn’t merely a hobby for Markle—it has also become a business. Jams and preserves form a key part of her As Ever product line.

Markle has been preparing to launch the lifestyle brand since last March. (It originally called America Riviera Orchard, but last month, the duchess announced it would be rebranded as As Ever.) According to People, the brand features a range of products, including “a collection of herbal teas (lemon ginger, peppermint and hibiscus), crepe mix, flower sprinkles ‘for beautifying meals and sweet treats,’ shortbread butter cookies with flower sprinkles, limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb and, of course, her signature raspberry jam in keepsake packaging.”
Markle gave fans some additional insight into these products in its first newsletter earlier this month. The products, she wrote, were “designed to make your everyday moments memories, to turn a basic breakfast into a beautiful snapshot of your life and to be kind to yourself and create a space for grace when it doesn’t all go according to plan.”
