Only Murders in the Building’s Arconia universe is getting a little more star-studded, as Renée Zellweger is reportedly guest-starring in Season 5, Deadline confirmed. While Zellweger’s role in the Hulu series is still a mystery, the Bridget Jones Diary actress will be joining season regulars–Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, and Michael Cyril Creighton–as well as some new A-list talent.

Zellweger will be joining fellow guest stars Christoph Waltz and Keegan-Michael Key for Only Murders in the Building Season 5, which began filming this week in New York, according to Deadline. While her character and the plot details of the upcoming season are under wraps, it’s likely that it’ll continue where Season 4 left off: Solving the murder of Arconia doorman Lester (played by Teddy Coluca) after he was found dead in a fountain during the season finale. 

It’s unknown whether the upcoming Only Murder in the Building cast will include some returning Season 4 stars, including Meryl Streep, who’s been the subject of Martin Short romance rumors. Celebrities like Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, Zach Galifianakis, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, and Molly Shannon were also part of the star-studded ensemble. 

Zellweger has yet to publicly acknowledge her latest movie project, but the two-time Academy Award winner recently reprised her role as Bridget Jones in the franchise’s fourth film, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, opposite Hugh Grant. Before that, Zellweger’s last role was in the 2019 Judy, for which she won a Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Judy Garland.
