IKEA’s Latest Collection Is Dropping Soon (It Even Includes a Chandelier)
Any time IKEA drops a new line, we’re ready to hit the stores. This time is no different, even if this collection is celebrating its 40th birthday.
The eighth iteration of the beloved STOCKHOLM collection launches April 10 with nearly 100 new pieces on the market. This collection, created to showcase the “best of” IKEA, features everything from a chocolate velvet sofa to curved wooden dining chairs, all characteristically easy to assemble.
“Like the city it’s named after, this collection is deeply rooted in nature and shaped by the contrast of environments that define Stockholm,” says Karin Gustavsson, the creative leader of STOCKHOLM 2025. “The city blends urban life with nearby woodlands, islands, and waterways, and we’ve channeled that same balance into our designs.”

Expect to see plenty of wood, forest-inspired prints, and the return of rattan, a favorite material from the 2017 iteration.
“We wanted this collection to feel like a home that’s been collected over time, even if you buy all of the pieces at once,” says Nike Karlsson, a designer on the collection, in the press release. “It’s about creating that organic, lived-in feel.”

It wouldn’t be an IKEA launch without some creative engineering. This collection features a first-of-its-kind chandelier, which was on Gustavsson’s wishlist, and one of the hardest products to design. The chandelier even comes with white gloves for seamless, fingerprint-less assembly.
“I tapped our designer Nike Karlsson to design it,” Gustavsson says. “He went through many iterations, even designing a chandelier in wood at first, but it evolved and found its shape as the elegant, but also quite retro-feeling, glass chandelier.”

Another favorite product? A stately bronze candleholder that holds a taper candle on one side and a tealight on the other.
“An easy piece, but with weight that adds beauty to a home,” Gustavsson says.
With 96 products in this collection, this iteration of STOCKHOLM is the biggest one yet.
“While previous STOCKHOLM collections focused on coordinating similar colors, materials, and tones, this collection is a little different,” Gustavsson says. “It has a larger variety of materials, with combinations that create new and interesting expressions.”

As like so many IKEA launches, many of these products are meant to solve common problems, like designing a couch that won’t lose its shape or making sure their furnishings can be flatpacked to keep costs low.
You can find ceramics, leather, bouclé, and linen throughout this collection, along with mouth-blown glass and handwoven rugs made from 100% wool, all without breaking the bank.
