A Success Story From Season 2 Of ‘Farmer Wants A Wife’—Big News From Mitchell And Sydney

FOX’s runaway hit reality dating show, Farmer Wants A Wife returns this week for season 3 with a whole new crop of fellas looking for love. Before we all get invested in these new potential love stories, we wanted to check in with one of the couples that found love last season.

Farmer Mitchell Kolinsky of Tennessee fell head over heels for New Jersey native Sydney Errera when the pair met in the most unlikely of ways, on a reality TV dating show. After the season 2 finale, Kolinsky let Southern Living in on a secret.

“Before I even met her I knew she was the one. Because I had 45 women and they were all like on a little baseball card picture and just when I saw her, I knew it was going to be her and it stayed that way the whole time.”

His initial reaction was confirmed once he saw Errera in real life. “The first time I saw her, she  was  getting ready for the filming that day. She was wearing this beautiful white dress and she hadn’t had her heels on yet. She was in camo Crocs. And I was like, ‘yep, I like that.’”

Luckily for the Tennessee native, Errera also felt the same way. “I think I really knew when I saw him in person, when he walked through the door. I saw the other guys and I knew. I was just so interested in him. I remember when he walked through the door he was just so confident. And he was just like ‘I’m here, I’m ready to do this.’ And I was like, yes this is what I need. I want that.”

A year and a half after that first meeting, the couple is still very much in love. They have deepened their connection despite the distance between them with frequent visits and hunting trips. Now, just ahead of the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife, we caught up with the pair, who had some big news to share: Errera is officially becoming a Southerner. She’s moving to Tennessee to join Kolinsky on the farm for good.

“We don’t have an exact date yet,” she told us, “we’re shooting for right after Easter.”

Despite having met and fallen in love on national television, Kolinsky said that after production wrapped, “everything has been normal and organic. Timing has all been right. We’re super excited that she’s finally going to be down here and we can create the lifestyle we really dream of together.”

What does their ideal life look like? They both said at the same time, “a lot of farm animals.”

Errera said, “Each of us really wants our own horse so we can go ride together. That’s something we really like to do.”

They also both want to add more chickens to their chicken coop and Errera will be bringing the sheep she’s had since she was in the eighth grade along with her when she makes the move.

“In the show she mentioned she comes with baggage and that’s what she was referring to,” Kolinsky said as they both laughed.

He added that they are both thankful that “FOX made it all work out,” and that they are honored to be one of the first success stories of the show’s legacy in the United States. There are 32 versions of the series across the globe that have resulted in over 200 marriages and over 500 children from those marriages.

“It’s been cool and an honor to represent farmers across America and find true love,” Kolinsky said.

We wish the happy couple a lifetime of love and plenty of farm animals.

Be sure to catch the season premiere of Farmer Wants A Wife on Thursday night on FOX and streaming on Hulu to meet the new folks hoping for the same happily ever after.
