Amanda Seyfried’s Cool-Girl Spring Boots Are a Staple in Taylor Swift's Closet

Amanda Seyfried’s Cool-Girl Spring Boots Are a Staple in Taylor Swift’s Closet

I have a dilemma: When it comes to footwear, comfort and practicality are two of my top concerns, but I don’t love wearing sneakers. The casual-cool style just never looks cool on me, so I tend to opt for alternatives. Loafers have sufficiently filled their spot, but Amanda Seyfried just reminded me of another style I might need to add to my spring rotation: black combat boots.

This week, the actress embraced New York City’s spring weather in an easy crewneck sweater, cigarette pants, and the practical shoe Taylor Swift reaches for year round. The lace-up booties brought a cool-edge to Seyfried’s classic look while offering the comfort needed to walk around NYC. Inspired by her stylish-yet-wearable shoes, I immediately sought out my own and found eight pairs I’d gladly add to my spring wardrobe, starting at $28.

8 Combat Boots for Spring

Dr. Martens 1460 Boots

Amazon

Seyfried’s boots feature yellow stitching, a dead giveaway that they’re from Dr. Martens. I confirmed with the brand that she’s wearing the 1460 boots, so, of course, they made my list. When it comes to combat boots, this style is as classic as it gets: The lace-up shoes have a small-but-sturdy sole and feature that same yellow stitching, which pops against the black semi-glossy nappa leather. Dr. Martens take a second to break in, but fans say it’s “well worth it.” That’s because, once you do, they become so comfortable that shoppers can stand and walk “all day” in them.

Hunter Diana Rain Combat Boots

It’s raining outside as I write this, which is why Hunter’s weather-proof combat boots immediately caught my eye. While Hunter is most famous for its tall rainboots, I love this low-key style, which feels more wearable for everyday. Because of the lace-up details and combat silhouette, these don’t immediately read as rainboots, which makes them much more versatile than traditional styles. Black is most similar to Seyfried’s look (and will go with everything), but they’re also available in six other colors, including forest green, white, and burgundy.

Dream Pairs Combat Boots

Amazon

To get this look for less, I’d recommend snagging Dream Pairs’s combat boots while they’re on sale for just $33. With laces at the front as well as a side zipper, they’re easy to get on and off. While they’re one of the few non-leather pairs to make my list, it’s because shoppers rave that the style looks way more expensive than it is. Plus, many report that the boots are “super comfortable.”

Dr. Martens Sinclair Platform Boots

Nordstrom Rack

While I love Seyfried’s 1460 style from Dr. Martens, these Sinclair Platform boots are my favorite from the brand. Currently 48-percent off at Nordstrom Rack, I love how intricate these are—the style has laces at both sides of the zip-up tongue and a thick platform sole, giving the boots a cool, chunky look.

Combat boots are the practical-yet-stylish shoes I need for spring. Not only will I be able to comfortably walk in these, but they’ll make all of my outfits a little cooler. Below, shop more of the pairs I’m eyeing, including a rain-resistant leather option and a $28 style that’s loved by more than 9,000 shoppers.
