Anika Noni Rose spoke up on Disney’s cancellation of Tiana.

The actress, who voiced the character Princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, took to her Instagram to share her feelings on the show getting axed.

“I’m so grateful to all who have worked to bring the Tiana series to life, and all who continue to love her into existence and beyond,” she wrote in the caption.

In the carousel post she shared a statement which read, “Last week an announcement was made regarding the cancellation of the series, Tiana.”

“I’ve been getting loads of messages expressing kindness, support and overwhelming disappointment,” Rose added.

She further admitted, “I too am deeply disappointed that the continuation of Tiana’s journey in series form has been cut short.”

Rose went on to say that she remains hopeful her fans who have eagerly supported both the series and a potential Princess and the Frog sequel will tune in when the planned Tiana Special Event airs.

The Vixen actress also asked fans to tell friends, family and co-workers who have been fans of the original movie to “show your love and desire in the numbers” and “make that desire an undeniable and real thing.”

Though the series Tiana has been shelved, the studio is working on a separate short-form special inspired by the original movie.
