Spanish brand Kettal introduces a look at its new Insula sofa, which is a modern modular system designed by architect and designer Patricia Urquiola. She was inspired by traditional Arab hospitality, forming the low and rounded furniture. The Insula nods to the traditional low seating that can be seen at traditional Arab majlis or a sitting room.

This is often the main focus in the home where guests are welcome and friends are entertained. It has an aluminum base complete with a plush and thick seat. The brand shared, “In function, like the original majlis, the Insula sofa’s main purpose is for socializing. It combines carefully balanced proportions as an architectural element that can be subtly integrated.”
