Billy Ray Cyrus opens up about President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration mishap with his equipment

Billy Ray Cyrus’ released a statement clarifying concern about his confused performance at President Donald Trump’s inaugural festivities.

The 63-year-old country singer revealed that he faced some technical issues while performing at the Liberty Ball during the inaugural on January 20.

At the event when Cyrus was set to perform his 1992 hit Achy Breaky Heart, some technical issue occurred with his microphone and guitar. He tried singing the song a cappella, snapping his fingers, and speaking the lyrics instead of crooning as he walked around the stage.

He took a moment to look at the backstage inquiring, “Check? Is anybody awake?”

“Y’all want me to sing more or you want me to just get the hell off the stage?” the country star joked, adding, “In life, when you have technical difficulties, you just gotta keep going, or as President Trump would say, ‘You gotta fight.'”

“I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me,” Cyrus told People in a statement.

“I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says, ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell. I was there for the people and we had a blast. That’s called rock n roll!!!”

Including Cyrus other stars who performed at the inauguration were Gavin DeGraw, Kid Rock, Nelly, Jason Aldean, and Village People.
