Bissell’s New Little Green Mini Saved My Chair, Uggs, and Floor from Bright Green Matcha Stains

Bissell’s New Little Green Mini Saved My Chair, Uggs, and Floor from Bright Green Matcha Stains

As a shopping writer, I am always testing out the latest products to see if they’re worth the hype. I’ve tried out robotic pool cleaners and put this bed vacuum to the test, but when Bissell first sent me the Little Green Mini Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner, I didn’t have much to try it out on. Not at the time. The “real” test wouldn’t come until a real mess did, and boy, did it ever.

It came as a surprise on a Tuesday morning. Just one wrong flick of my wrist and suddenly, the green matcha tea (with a light topping of lavender foam) was everywhere—except the cup that it came in. I started panicking and reaching for the paper towels, but I didn’t need them. What I needed was the latest Bissell launch, the Little Green Mini, and luckily, I had that little steam cleaner ready to go.

Matcha was everywhere—the table, chairs, and hardwoods, but also on the dining room chair cushions, my dog’s bed, a blanket, and—say it isn’t so—my Ugg Tasmans. This was going to put the Little Green Mini to the ultimate test. Here’s how it fared.

First of all, the Little Green Mini is currently on sale at Bissell.com with the coupon code ‘SPRINGCLEAN2025.’ After you hear my matcha tea horror story, you’ll want to grab one ASAP.

The Mini—remarkably only 7 pounds and able to hold 16 fluid ounces in its tank—removed bright green matcha stains from the dog bed, blanket, and cushions with absolute ease. It took several passes to get the light gray/beige chair cushions completely stain-free, but the combination of water and Little Green stain solution drew the stain out in less than seven minutes with only light-to-medium pressure scrubbing. The trail of green was gone, and the results were well worth the minimal amount of elbow grease it required.

Now, could it salvage my Ugg slippers? It’s next to impossible to save Uggs once stained or rained on thanks to the sheepskin fabric that’s a magnet for water, salt, grease, and oil stains. I’ve never successfully removed a stain from a pair of Uggs myself, and Uggs are so notoriously tough to clean that the company recommends nothing other than blotting and spraying stain repellent preemptively. You can’t throw them in the washer either, so there’s nothing else you can do.

But I’m about to blow your mind—at least, a little bit. Spoiler alert: My Uggs couldn’t be salvaged entirely. I don’t want to get your hopes up, but—and it’s a big but—the Little Green Mini was able to remove some of the spots. Out of the six total splash spots, it removed two of them, and though it’s no perfect score, it’s still impressive considering how impossible Uggs are to clean. The Mini removed the biggest stain of all, so at the very least, I feel more confident wearing them with the most noticeable stain now gone.

Better Homes & Gardens

After I took care of all the affected upholstery, I grabbed my CrossWave OmniForce and cleaned the hardwood floors. This took two quick passes, and it even picked up remnants from the broken glass straw.

All in all, I was very impressed by how effective the Little Green Mini was at removing the spots from my chair cushion, blanket, and the dog bed. And even though it didn’t get a 5 out of 5 in cleaning Ugg slippers, it still has my highest praise with a 10 out of 10 recommendation. If you want to treat small messes quickly, and with a big payoff, grab the Mini now with the code ‘SPRINGCLEAN2025’ for $15 off at Bissell.com. Check out more of my favorite Bissells below.
