The sixth day is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, the warrior form of Maa Durga. Known as the goddess of courage and strength, she is often depicted riding a lion and holding a sword. It is believed that worshipping Maa Katyayani helps remove obstacles, brings harmony in relationships, and fulfills desires, especially for those seeking marital happiness. Her fierce yet compassionate nature symbolizes the balance of power and devotion. The colour associated with this day is green, representing renewal, energy, and prosperity.
As fasting continues, here are three vrat-friendly protein-rich recipes that will help you stay physically and spiritually strong.
Dates Roll
Ingredients
- 10 deseeded fresh dates
- 4 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 tbsp desiccated coconut
For the peanut butter
- 2 cups (300 grams) peanuts
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1-2 tsp honey
- 1-3 tsp peanut oil
Method
For the peanut butter
Grind the peanuts with peanut oil, sea salt and honey. Bring it to a smooth paste consistency.
For the Dates roll
Deseed the dates and fill with the peanut butter. Roll it in dessicated coconut and serve immediately.
Khoa Paratha
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rajgeera flour
- 1 cup khoa
- Water as required
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1: In a bowl, add Rajgeera flour. Add in the salt and pour water. Knead into a soft dough.
Step 2: In a pan, roast khoa till it turns slightly golden.
Step 3: Make small-sized balls of the dough. Roll it in a roti.
Step 4: Spread the roasted khoa mix and place another roti on it.
Step 5: Roast the roti on a medium flame. Apply ghee. Serve hot.
Protein Fruit Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 Banana
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 cup yogurt
Method
In a blender, blend these ingredients together until smooth. Add water to adjust the consistency. Serve it in a glass.
