Key Takeaways

Costco just announced a food safety alert on a shelf-stable chicken product, according to a recent Costco member letter and a U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) report. This is because the food item did not receive the benefit of import reinspection by the FSIS.
The product impacted is the Allen Family Foods White Chicken Chili sold in 7-pound, eight-count boxes. The recalled chili has a printed lot code of E225077, E225079, E225080, E225081 or E225083 and best-by date of March 18, 20, 21, 22, or 24, 2026.
With a printed establishment number of “7011,” the item was shipped to select Costco warehouses in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. While the chili is not technically recalled, Costco and the USDA are urging customers to not consume the product and to return it to their place of purchase for a refund.
