The affected products were distributed by Shearer’s Foods, LLC, which is headquartered in Massillon, Ohio. The recall was initiated on February 21 after stainless steel wire was found in the product.
On March 11, the agency labeled the recall a Class II threat, the second-most severe risk level. Per the FDA, a Class II recall is “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
