A heartwarming TikTok of a puppy making friends on her first day of school has gone viral. The puppy, Josie, is a 5-month-old Golden Retriever from Austin, Texas. Josie’s owner, Lauren Goodman, created a TikTok account to share Josie’s journey of “living her best life” under the username @josiethegoodgirl.

The account features adorable videos of Josie playing outside, eating pup cups, and snuggling in bed with her owner. On February 6, Goodman posted a video of Josie on her first day of puppy school, playing and making friends with another Golden Retriever pup—and TikTok can’t get enough of the cuteness. In the video, Josie is wearing a purple harness and begins to get close to Winnie, the other Golden Retriever, who is a bit shy at first. Josie continues to follow Winnie around, and soon the duo plays together like good friends.

Goodman wrote over the video: “POV [point of view]: Your Puppy makes her first friend in school,” with the caption reading: “Cuteness overload.” The viral video has reached more than 392,500 views and over 66,900 likes. Many viewers shared their reactions to the bond Josie and the other Golden Retriever pup formed in the comments. “I love how goldens always stick together,” one person said. Another wrote: “poofy golden and silky golden aweeeee.”

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) recommends puppy school to properly socialize puppies with other dogs and humans using positive reinforcement-based methods. This gets the pups used to the world around them, preparing them to be well-adjusted adult dogs.
