Duchess Sophie takes on key role in US after King Charles message to Trump
Duchess Sophie performed an important royal engagement in the US after King Charles’ personal message to President Donald Trump amid political unrest.
The Duchess of Edinburgh participated in a meaningful meeting in New York City, organised by Plan International UK, a global charity striving for a fairer world for children and equality for girls.
The official Instagram account of Plan UK released delightful photos of Sophie’s meeting with young women, trying to promote women’s empowerment.
The social media spokesperson of the charity said in a statement, “We’re proud to have our Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh meet with young women advocates from around the world in New York, reinforcing her commitment to championing girls’ rights.”
The message further reads, “This week’s event highlights the harsh realities facing girls in their communities, including conflict, climate change, and child marriage.”
At the end of the note, the organisation urged people to reunite for a cause of “gender equality and ensure these powerful stories are not just heard but acted upon!”
Duchess Sophie’s important outing came after King Charles sent a personal letter to Donald Trump for a state visit to the UK.
