EA Sports F1 25 release date, details, cover revealed
Following the reveal of Lewis Hamilton starring on the F1 25 Iconic Edition cover on Monday, EA Sports has announced additional details regarding the upcoming racing game, which will be released on May 30, 2025, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
A trio of drivers — and their rides — decorate F1 25’s Standard Edition cover: McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, the winner of the recent Chinese Grand Prix; Williams’ Carlos Sainz, who scored points for the British stable for the first time in Shanghai; and Haas’ rookie Oliver Bearman, who also brought in his first points haul for the American team at last weekend’s race.
Fans of narrative content can look forward to the continuation of Braking Point, the series’ story mode. Braking Point 3 will see fictional team Konnersport fight for the championship after its rise through the ranks in the previous chapter. Players will be able to choose their preferred difficulty settings for the single-player mode in F1 25, making it accessible to beginners and fun for veterans.
EA Sports is promising a major overhaul of the popular My Team mode as well, which appears to be focusing on the management side of things. It looks like players will take on more responsibility, and can jump into races as either of their team’s two drivers. Improvements to several tracks will enhance the game’s visual aspects.
EA and Codemasters are already accepting pre-orders for the game, which come with benefits. Fans buying the Standard Edition early will receive the F1 75 Celebration Pack, F1 World Starter Pack and 5,000 PitCoin in the game. Those grabbing the Iconic Edition ahead of release also obtain a selection of liveries from the ongoing F1 season in F1 24, several Hamilton-themed goodies, and post-launch story chapters featuring the fictional team APXGP from Apple’s upcoming F1 movie. Owners of the Iconic Edition will also get Advanced Access, with the lights at the grid going out on May 27, 2025.
Anyone pre-ordering the Iconic Edition domestically additionally gets a free one-month F1 TV subscription.
