One of the most unique and lesser-known cuisines in India’s rich food culture is the Pathare Prabhu cuisine. With distinctive names, strong flavours, and fast cooking methods, this cuisine is influenced by Maharashtra’s coastal flavours and blended with Gujarati and Kathiawari traditions. It offers a mix of spices, fresh ingredients, and creative cooking techniques.

The Pathare Prabhu cuisine traces its origins to one of Mumbai’s oldest communities. With a blend of coastal Maharashtrian, Gujarati, and Kathiawari influences, the cuisine features an exquisite array of seafood and vegetarian delicacies that are both traditional and innovative. Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai is set to take its patrons on a delightful culinary journey with the Pathare Prabhu Food Festival, celebrating the rare and rich heritage of Pathare Prabhu cuisine.

From 21st March to 31st March 2025, this extraordinary food festival will be curated by renowned culinary expert Chef Bimba Nayak, who has been instrumental in reviving this 700-year-old cuisine.

Pathare Prabhu cuisine is a hidden gem, and I look forward to sharing its vibrant flavours and rich history with all the food lovers,” she said.

Non-vegetarian enthusiasts can relish delicacies such as Chutneycha Saranga, Bombil Cutlets, Bharleli Chimbori, Tajlatyle Mutton Sukhe, Kolambi Chi Khichdi, Prawns Khadkhadle, and Halwa Solache. For vegetarian connoisseurs, the menu features Pineapple Sambhare, Vangi Panchamrut Hi, Konfal Butterwalya, Bhende Vatane Bhaji, Kerolya, Sagoo, Dudhi Batata Gode, and Wadiche Bhujne.
