Gigi Hadid’s ’80s-Inspired Ruffle Blouse Is So Princess Diana-Coded
Gigi Hadid is bringing the retro, sunny vibes to New York. Hosting Vogue’s Vintage Market, the model opted for a statement top that could easily have been pulled straight from Princess Diana‘s wardrobe circa 1984. After all, it bore all of the hallmarks of Lady Di’s ’80s looks—the ruffles! The sleeves! The buttons! The polka dots!

Hadid’s sunny yellow polka dot top featured a round scooped neckline with an oversized ruffled collar. The slightly puffed sleeves came to just above her elbows, while the waist was slightly tailored to give a fitted look. The final retro touch? The large buttons down the front. Hadid updated the ’80s-inspired top with a few modern touches, including a pair of mid-waist mom jeans, a pair of slim sunglasses, and statement stone earrings. She wore white socks with a pair of brown leather loafers and carried a boxy Moschino bag.

Hadid donned this retro look for Vogue’s Vintage Market, a coveted fashion pop-up at Roll & Hill in SoHo. “I don’t know how this all happened but I chose three pieces I didn’t know were once Anna’s,” Hadid said during the event. One of the pieces she snapped up was the blue-and-white floral John Galliano slipdress that Anna Wintour wore to the Met Gala back in 1996. Proceeds from the event went to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. “To be able to do this to raise money and get special pieces feels really good,” Hadid said.
