According to the Vedic calendar, the Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month will begin on March 29 at 04:27 pm and will end on March 30 at 12:49 pm.

According to the Udaya Tithi calculation, Gudi Padwa will be celebrated on March 30. Chaitra Navratri will also begin from this day.

Gudi Padwa 2025: Shubh Muhurat

According to the astrologers, this time Indra Yoga and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga will be occurring on Gudi Padwa.

On this day, Shubh Yoga will remain till 5:54 pm and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga will start from 4:35 pm and will remain till 6:12 am on March 31. Panchak Kaal will remain from 6:13 am to 4:35 pm.

Gudi Padwa celebrations begin early in the morning. One of the most prominent customs is the raising of the Gudi, a bamboo pole decorated with a bright cloth (usually orange or yellow), a copper or silver pot, and mango leaves. This Gudi is hoisted outside homes to signify victory and prosperity.

Gudi Padwa Puja is done to seek blessings for health, wealth, and happiness. Traditional sweets like puran poli and shrikhand are prepared on this occassion. A mixture of neem leaves, tamarind, jaggery, and salt is also consumed on this day, which signifies the balance of life’s sweetness and bitterness.
