Before making an iconic back-to-back season run as Tanya McQuoid in The White Lotus, Jennifer Coolidge was most well known for her roles in movies like Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story, and of course, American Pie. While the zany shipping heiress doesn’t make an appearance on White Lotus Season 3, Coolidge opened up about how her star turn in White Lotus has impacted her dating life at 63 in a candid new interview.

Speaking to The Times in an interview published on March 22, the Best in Show actress opened up her dating situation pre-Tanya and how fans gravitated towards what was previously her most well-known character: Stifler’s Mom. “Look, I got a lot of benefits out of Stifler’s Mom, believe me,” she told the publication. “They might be over now, but once in a while you still get a Stifler’s Mom thing.” 

Understandably, the Shotgun Wedding actress wasn’t thrilled that Tanya would no longer be checking into the White Lotus after her untimely death orchestrated by her husband Greg–“You have to be a good sport about it, but I went, ‘Oh, really? Really?’ I whined and then just let it go,” she told the publication–but Coolidge said her dating life has only benefitted from Tanya’s fate.

“Even though I play a complete weirdo in White Lotus, cute guys come up to me. And this is far better than American Pie because people were really sad about Tanya falling off a boat. These men like you better because they feel that you went through something. That show really upped my game,” she shared.

To illustrate the point, Coolidge explained, “Because, you know, I had a guy come up to me in New Orleans once. It was a few years ago and he had a T-shirt on that his belly came out of, plus red cowboy boots. He was 4ft 11in and he said, ‘Would you like to go out?’”

“And, well, there was nothing wrong with him, but you have this idea that Brad Pitt or whoever will sweep you off your feet, and then it was that little…” she added, trailing off. “And White Lotus changed that for me. It’s not just that little guy any more.”

While Coolidge may no longer be the face of Mike White’s hugely successful HBO series, she shared her thoughts about the current White Lotus season while calling for justice for Tanya. 

“It’s eerie, creepy, I’m worried for everybody,” she said, adding, “Greg is in the first episode. I hope something bad happens to him.”
