There’s an active recall on hummus sold in Canadian retailers, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This is due to an undeclared allergen.

The Habibi’s Mediterranean-branded Hummus Lebanese Style is impacted by this recall. The 450-gram plastic containers of hummus have a printed UPC of “6 83830 00911 7” and best-by date of June 17, 2025. The recalled hummus was sold at stores in Alberta, British Columbia and possibly other provinces and territories.

This product is being recalled because it may contain peanuts, an undeclared allergen that is not listed on the label. This has resulted in a customer reported allergic reaction, so check your refrigerator for this product. The CFIA urges consumers that have this recalled hummus to throw it away or return it to your place of purchase for a refund.

People with peanut allergies may unknowingly consume this product and experience an allergic reaction as severe as anaphylaxis. Common symptoms of anaphylaxis include hives, swelling, trouble breathing, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. If you are showing signs of an allergic reaction after eating this product, call 911 immediately.
