I Tested the Hoka Bondi Shoes, and They’re the Only Shoes I’ll Wear on My Walking Pad from Now On
Spring has sprung, and if you’re anything like me, your body is craving movement and a freshened-up routine.
As someone who works from home, I’m no stranger to the standing desk or walking pad game. What I am new to is the walking-shoe game. After a few years and more than one pair of worn-out slippers, I realized that it was time to make the switch to shoes that were made for what I need them for: daily walking on my treadmill, plus support for when I stand at my desk.

Now, I live in a city, and we’re a no-shoes-inside household, so I knew that these would be something I would be changing out of multiple times a day so I could take my dog out (in my outside shoes). I wanted something easy to put on and take off, but didn’t necessarily want to forgo laces altogether. Enter: the Hoka Bondi B3LS. They’re lightweight, flexible and have handy pull tabs on the tongue and heel, making them easy to slip on and off. There’s also an adjustable toggle lace lock for quick and easy adjusting.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that I noticed a difference instantly. The second I put these babies on, I understood the Hoka hype—this style has a 4.5-star rating for a reason! They were immediately comfortable and needed no time to break in, with a thick, cushiony midsole that helps support good posture while standing and a comfortable stride while walking. The flexible mesh on the top and sides adds to the comfort.
The Bondi B3LS comes in multiple colors and unisex sizing, which I found to be true to size, though it doesn’t offer a wide option for those with wider feet. The price is also an investment, but you know what they say: invest in your shoes and sheets because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other! It’s easy to see why this brand is a go-to for many of us at EatingWell and a favorite among celebrities. Even though I may walk at slower speeds, I’m still putting in the miles, and these last few weeks have shown me what a difference the right pair of shoes can make.
If you’re looking for a versatile sneaker that can support you at your WFH desk, on spring walks, and all of the life stuff in between, I can’t recommend this pair enough. In fact, I’m tempted to get another pair that I can wear outside.
