Jamie Lynn Spears was in proud mom mode as she documented her lookalike teen daughter Maddie going to junior prom over the weekend. The Zoey 101 alum, who is the younger sister of Britney Spears, had fans seeing double as she shared photos on Sunday of her 16-year-old mini-me looking all grown up in a sleeveless purple sequin-encrusted dress.

The Sweet Magnolias actress ensured that celebrating the high school milestone was a family affair, as she snapped pictures with her eldest daughter all dressed up for the dance. Meanwhile, Maddie–whom Spears shares with ex fiancé Casey Aldridge–looked pretty in purple with a lilac-hued gown from Sherri Hill that featured a thigh-high slit, metallic beading all over, and a large bow on the left side. A pair of lavender pointy-toed Christian Louboutin heels and a white and purple flower bouquet finished off the high school student’s junior prom look. 

Spears shared several photos of her daughter’s prom look in her Instagram carousel, which appropriately played Prince’s “Purple Rain” in the background. In one photo, Maddie could be seen posing alongside her mom, who looked casual in a red t-shirt, jean shorts, an oversized black jacket, and gray boots. Spears also shared a family photo with her youngest daughter Ivey, 6, as well as her husband James Watson. 

She also gave her followers a glimpse of Maddie’s date Joseph Daix, who matched her purple look with a purple bow tie and a purple flower on his lapel. 

Spears, who was 17 years old when she welcomed Maddie with her ex, previously shared videos documenting their prom dress search. In the February 26 and March 1 Instagram videos, which showed Spears wearing the ultimate winning dress, she joked, “Y’all can go help Maddie choose a dress, bc I’m her mom & my opinion is the worst.” However, based on the final prom gown pick, it looks like Maddie decided that mom knows best.
