John Lewis keeps bonus freeze despite profit jump

Retailer John Lewis has continued its freeze on bonuses despite profits jumping 73% to £97m.

It said it wanted to invest in its business and employee base pay instead.

The string of freezes started in 2020 – the first time its had scrapped them since 1953 – after it was hit by lockdown store closures.
