Jokic sets NBA record with 61-point triple-double | The Express Tribune
Nikola Jokic recorded the highest-scoring triple-double in NBA history with 61 points, but the Denver Nuggets fell 140-139 in overtime against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Ball Arena.
The three-time MVP added 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a career-best performance, surpassing the previous triple-double scoring record of 57 points set by Russell Westbrook in 2017.
Westbrook, now a Nuggets teammate, had a chance to secure the win but missed a lay-up with 10 seconds remaining. He then fouled Nickeil Alexander-Walker on a last-second three-point attempt, allowing the Timberwolves guard to sink two of three free throws for the victory.
Minnesota secured the win despite missing Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo, who were serving suspensions following a brawl with the Detroit Pistons. The Timberwolves sit seventh in the Western Conference, while the Nuggets are third.
Curry’s 52-Point Masterclass Lifts Warriors
Stephen Curry delivered another standout performance, hitting 12 three-pointers on his way to 52 points in the Golden State Warriors’ 134-125 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.
“The guy’s 37 years old – it’s incredible,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “Fifty-two points with defenders all over him. The conditioning, skill, and belief—it’s amazing to watch.”
With the win, Golden State moved above Memphis into fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
