Kareena Kapoor Khan, the OG Face of Lakmē is back!
Making an entrance in true Bebo style, Kareena looked ethereal in a Manish Malhotra saree and took the opportunity to announce that she is back as the face of Lakmē .
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Kareena looked ethereal in the godet Manish Malhotra saree paired with a vintage French lace blouse. The contemporary silhouette was enhanced with Swarovski and pearl embroidery.
Exuding timeless opulence and grace at the 25 Years Celebration of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, Kareena also shared a heartwarming message dedicating the night not just to the eminent designers present at the gala but also to the fashion stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, choreographers and the models who were backstage.
“Yes I am honoured to be the face of Lakme but 25 years of Lakme Fashion Week is not about us actors walking the finale. It is about each and every one of them who have been backstage.We owe it to them. They make us look amazing,” says Kareena Kapoor Khan, adding, “Of course, all our smashing amazing designers who are out here [at the gala], my darling friend, brother Manish [Malhotra], Tarun [Tahiliani] and everyone but tonight should also be about each and every person who has worked for the 25 years to make us all look amazing on the ramp.”
Reminiscing about her journey with Lakme in the past, Kareena expressed how Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI has given her many fascinating moments on the runway. “It is not about a star and a brand. It has never been about that when it comes to me. Most people who know me know I do everything with my heart. So, whether it was walking the ramp when I was size zero or walking the ramp with Taimur in my belly. Whether it was size 10 or 12 that never really mattered. What mattered was my heart was on the stage, my heart was with Lakme Fashion Week, it was with each and every designer that I had walked for and was also in my confidence.”
Speaking about embarking on a new journey with the brand, Kareena shares, “As a face I enjoyed my time and we are also going to embark on a new chapter back again with the Lakme family. And hopefully will be back on the ramp with all my favourite designers wearing all their outfits.”
