Kelsea Ballerini shares how therapy has improved her life
American country singer Kelsea Ballerini has recently shared how therapy improves her life.
The Cowboys Cry Too singer reflected on her journey with therapy which she started to cope with divorce and a fatal shooting at her high school in Knoxville, Tennessee when she was 15.
“I didn’t have a great relationship with therapy until it was my decision to go, which happened when I was 24,” confessed Kelsea during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Women of Country channel.
The country music artist mentioned, “I want to navigate my life and my career well, and be proud of it all. And I needed help with that.”
“I’m pretty religious about it, and I try to do it at least a couple times a month,” said the 31-year-old.
Kelsea opened up that she also started an “all-girl therapy group” with her friends at the beginning of her career.
The five-time Grammy nominee also revealed that she bonded with fellow country artist Carly Pearce in her therapy group.
“Before we had anything on the radio, before we had any success, we were friends in this all-girl, basically just like therapy group,” she mentioned in a clip shared with PEOPLE.
Kelsea recalled they “were all just trying to figure out how to break into the industry and like being a support system for each other”.
“And then we both had the opportunity to sign a record deal and start touring and put songs out,” she added while talking about her longtime friend, Carly.
