Influencer turned actor Kusha Kapila has now dipped her toes in entrepreneurship. The social media personality recently launched her shapewear brand – UnderNeat. Reports mention that the brand has secured funding from Fireside Ventures, with Mamaearth co-founder Ghazal Alagh also joining in as an investor.
Kusha Kapila’s UnderNeat is offering shapewear, bodysuits, underwear, bras, and other related accessories targeting young women. While the brand has limited sizes available now, it plans to be more inclusive and introduce more sizes and colours.
Ahead of the launch of her brand, Kusha released a video series – What Are You Wearin’ Under? The videos answered practical innerwear challenges, such as what to wear under a backless dress or what to wear under a plunging neckline top, or how to use body tape. She used her signature humour to address these questions and offer practical solutions.
The pieces have been thoughtfully constructed with breathable, climate-conscious fabrics. The designs are intuitive, functional and versatile, adapting seamlessly to both everyday wear and special moments.
According to a report by Moneycontrol, UnderNeat is aiming to position itself as a “mass-premium” shapewear brand. The report also included the brand’s deck that read, “Our strategy for the shapewear brand is to achieve rapid growth in this emerging category within India and establish ourselves as a market leader. We draw significant inspiration from Skims, a brand that was launched in 2019 and experienced early growth…. we aim to follow a similar trajectory of success in the Indian market.”
Within two days of its launch, the brand has over 177K followers on Instagram.
