The talented actor Jack Lilley, who made a name for himself with his Little House on the Prairie performance, has passed away at the age of 91.

Earlier this week, his family announced the heartbreaking news via an Instagram post.

“Jack went to be with his bride, Irene, tonight. He just couldn’t bear another second without her. You left one heck of a mark on this world, Papa. Your laugh and spark in your eyes when you saw the ones you loved will stay with us forever,” they penned.

The family paid a heartfelt tribute to their father but did not reveal the cause of his death in the social media post.

However, the late actor’s granddaughter, Savanah Lilley, told The Signal, a news outlet in Santa Clarita, that Lilley had Alzheimer’s disease.

He breathed his last on Wednesday, March 19, at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills.

Jack’s showbiz career spans more than seven decades and includes roles as an actor, stuntman, animal coordinator, and others.

The jack of all trades appeared on all nine seasons of the beloved NBC drama, along with Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle, and others.

In addition to Little House, Lilley appeared in Blazing Saddles (1974), Bonanza (1961), Rawhide starring Clint Eastwood, Gunsmoke and many more.
