In today’s edition of “Celebrities: They’re just like us,” Mariah Carey hilariously embarrassed her teen son Moroccan Cannon by crashing his Twitch livestream. While the 13-year-old was playing video games with his friends on Thursday, his superstar mom made an unexpected cameo–and he had the most teen reaction when his fellow players started fangirling over Carey.

Moroccan, whom Carey shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, was broadcasting on Twitch on April 3 when Mariah and his twin sister Monroe walked into the room. The teen took a moment to chat with his family members off-camera, telling his friends, “Sorry chat, my mom is here.” As the group started saying hi to “Ms. Carey,” Monroe ducked into the video frame holding a dog. 

Moroccan invited his mom Carey to join them on the stream, saying, “You wanna come here, mom?” However, when the “All I Want For Christmas” singer appeared on screen, he got more than he bargained for.

Seemingly embarrassed by his fellow gamers’ response to seeing Carey on the Twitch stream, Moroccan revoked the invitation, telling them, “Okay, y’all need to get out now. Just, everybody get out.”

“Mom, they can see you. They’re saying, ‘Hi Mariah, I love you!’ Oh my God,” he continued. Carey happily responded, “Hi, you guys. I love you too.” The visibly flustered teen repeated, “Can y’all please get out, please? Love you. Get out of my room.”

It’s not the first time Carey has made a joint appearance with her kids, frequently posting photos of the 13-year-old twins on her Instagram account. Moroccan and Monroe were also their mom’s biggest supporters as they accompanied her to the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.

As the Grammy Award-winning singer accepted the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” the twins leaned into a white, black, and red color palette. Monroe could be seen wearing a candy cane-coded white and red puffer jacket paired with red glasses, a cream turtleneck, and cream knit pants, while Moroccan wore a black tracksuit with a white puffer jacket adorned with red strings and a silver chain.
