Meghan Markle gives special ode to UK life in effort to ease royal rift
Meghan Markle appears to making an effort to placate the anger and hurt coming from the royal family as the Duchess of Sussex makes a surprising reference to her UK life.
The Duchess of Sussex – who stepped down from her senior royal position with husband Prince Harry – recently launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The former Suits actress has chosen a different venture to make money after she and Harry were brutally criticised for humiliating the royals.
Meghan has been issuing newsletters for her subscribers in which she pens special stories about her products or to share updates.
In her recent letter, Meghan surprisingly mentioned some pleasant memories from England after making major claims in the 2021 Oprah interview about how distressing her time with the royals had been.
“When I think of the things I look forward to most, I usually find them in the unexpected, in the thoughtful gesture, in the small details that show care,” Meghan began the letter.
Expressing her feelings about how small personal gesture could mean to someone, the former Suits actress shared some of the things that makes her happy.
“They say ‘it’s the thought that counts, but I would go a step further it’s the thought that counts the most.”
She continued, “Crunchy and delicious shortbread cookies that remind me of my time in England, with tiny flower sprinkles to add extra beauty and charm to enjoy each delicate bite.
In the end Meghan shared that she wants her customers to have an insight into her home vicariously through her brand. “With As ever, I welcome you to the feeling of my home, and invite you to have this joy in your home too.”
The letter comes amid reports that Harry and Meghan have been trying to hold back on their jabs at the royals and rebuild the tarnished relationship over the years.
