Meghan Markle Shared a Rare Throwback Photo of Her as a High School Student
Meghan Markle might be busy juggling the launch of her As Ever lifestyle brand (complete with her famous homemade jam, of course), a brand new podcast, as well as a second season of With Love, Meghan, but she’s giving her fans a look back at simpler times. On March 18, the Suits actress gave her 2.5 million Instagram followers a rare glimpse of her teen years as she shared a throwback high school photo.

Markle gave a nostalgic shoutout to her high school Immaculate Heart, a Catholic prep school in Los Angeles’s Los Feliz neighborhood as she shared an unearthed photo of her from the school’s campus. In the image, a young Meghan could be seen praying by a Virgin Mary statue while surrounded by rows of bright yellow flowers. In contrast to the statue’s light blue paint, the high school student wore a white printed sundress paired with an olive green cardigan and a gold headband around her hair, which she wore down and in a blowout style.

When your dear friend from middle school/high school sends you something from your Alma mater and it brings the biggest smile to your face,” she wrote before calling out her high school’s mascot. Go Pandas 🐼,” she wrote, tagging her school. “Thanks Sush xo❤️.”
Immaculate Heart shared the image in a post earlier in the day, revealing that it had been taken during “Mary’s Day, “a reflection of our legacy of sisterhood, support, and Panda spirit.”

Markle, who graduated from Immaculate Heart in 1999, gave the all-girls school a sweet shoutout to her alma mater in With Love, Meghan Episode 3 with Chef Roy Choi. She’s also stayed very connected to her high school since graduation, visiting the campus for a 2022 Archetypes podcast episode as well as speaking at Immaculate Heart’s virtual commencement ceremony back in 2020. Based off her latest post, it’s clear that she’s still a Panda at heart.
