Congratulations are in order for husband-wife duo Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail, who reportedly welcomed a new baby together six weeks ago via surrogate, according to People. The new addition is Williams’s fourth child and her third with Kail. (Her eldest, Matilda, is the daughter of Heath Ledger, who passed away in 2008.)

“They couldn’t be happier to expand their family, and Matilda has been doting on her younger siblings,” a sourced told the publication.

Matilda’s younger siblings include a brother Hart (born in 2020), and another baby (born in 2022). The name and sex of the latter child have not been disclosed by the couple.

“It’s totally joyous,” Williams told Variety on the topic of expanding her family. “As the years go on, you sort of wonder what they might hold for you or not hold for you. It’s exciting to discover that something you want again and again, is available one more time. That good fortune is not lost on me or my family.”

Williams and Kail met in late 2018 and announced their engagement and their first pregnancy the following December. They quietly married in March 2020 and welcomed their first son, Hart, in June. A source later told US Weekly that welcoming her third child was a “dream come true” for the actress.

“[She’s] soaking up the joy,” the source told the publication. “They wouldn’t change a single thing about their life together.”
