I’m devoted to denim, and anyone who follows my work knows that. But being petite (4-foot-11, to be exact) sometimes limits my off-the-rack options; unless the bottoms are tailored to perfection, oversized silhouettes rarely make the cut. Therefore, I’ve been hesitant to hit the “order” button when it comes to barrel-leg jeans—but Michelle Williams just gave me the nudge I needed.

The Dying for Sex star was spotted in the Big Apple wearing a cropped tweed top adorned with gold buttons and three-quarter-length sleeves. Julianne Moore is also 5-foot-3-inches, proving yet again how great this little denim secret really is. But don’t get discouraged if you’re on the taller side; Hailey Bieber, Elsa Hosk, and Katie Holmes all ring in at 5-foot-8-inches and taller, confirming this is a flattering trend on everyone.
