Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan recently turned their colonial-style bungalow in Chennai into a swanky home studio. The power couple gave their fans a glimpse into their modern studio. The 7000-square feet house was renovated and turned into a functional studio, yet they maintained the beautiful old-world charm of the building and every corner of the studio, now, tells a story.
In a conversation with Architectural Digest, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan gave a glimpse into their home studio. Designer Nikhita Reddy from The Storey Collective was in charge of refurbishing the house and turning it into a functional office space. The designer kept the British charm of the house intact. The house comes with a rustic vibe, high ceilings, ample space and windows that filter in the natural light. Nayanthara told Architectural Digest, “I wanted to retain the essence of the bungalow while enhancing it to make it brighter by bringing in lots of natural light.”
One of the most striking features of the studio is how it is a beautiful blend of earthy shades and some carefully curated traditional artefacts. A wooden console table sits in the centre of the house and it has a ‘N’ emblazoned on it. The table has been surrounded by wooden chairs that come with rattan backrest. Apart from this, there are multiple traditional artefacts all around the house. From a traditional painting adorning the wall to trinkets lying across, the house tells the story of Nayanthara and Vignesh.
The house comes tastefully done with some exquisite upholstery, wooden collectibles, impressive artwork, stone sculptures, and more.
Located in Venus Colony, the bungalow comes with a conference room, a cosy lounge space to host guests and parties, a large outdoor section to hang out, an outdoor backyard dining area, a living room to host visitors, bedrooms for their team, a meeting room, and separate spaces for Nayanthara and Vignesh to have their meetings.
