My mom and I talk every day—she’s in Minnesota, and I’m in New York—but this morning, our conversation was a little different. Besides talking about the usual (like how did you sleep, how’s everything going…), we discussed upcoming summer plans, to which I said, “Can you believe summer is almost here!” I know, I might be getting a bit ahead of myself, but hey, it’s nearly April, and given that it was 80 degrees in the Big Apple yesterday, I deem it summer. Naturally, we talked about clothes for said plans, too, and I mentioned that I’m so excited to wear my linen pants again, to which she said, “Me, too, they’re all I wear!” 

We both swear by wide-leg linen pants and wear the breezy style 24/7 once the warm weather kicks in. And while sure, my mom and I have a little bit of differing tastes—hey, she’s 65 and certainly won’t wear a cropped tee like I would at 31—we both agree linen pants are the hero item of summer. The flattering, breezy style is comfy to wear for every activity, and they’re incredibly versatile, too; we’ve both slipped them on for errands, 14-hour travel days, and just lounging around at home. Not to mention, my mom’s petite at 5-foot-4-inches tall, while I hover closer to 5-foot-8-inches, but the silhouette suits both of us well.
