Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara in Jamnagar, Gujarat earlier this month. For the occasion, Nita Ambani served elegance and grace in not one but two traditional Indian sarees that celebrate the country’s rich textile history. Recently, ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra took to his social media to talk about Nita’s two stunning looks.
Taking to his Instagram, Manish Malhotra shared a series of pictures of Nita Ambani in two stunning sarees. For the first look, Nita opted for a pink double ikat patola saree. For the second look, she donned a handwoven Murshidabad silk saree. He wrote, “It’s always an honour and a pleasure working with Nita…designing, curating her looks and she is such a pillar of inspiration with her constant support and love for Indian handlooms and textiles and always showcasing them on a global platform.”
Take a closer look at Nita’s sarees here.
For the first look, Nita opted for a pink-hued nine-motif double Ikat Patola saree, which is traditionally known as the nine-figure Adtala design. The saree, sourced from Rajshrungar Sarees, took seven months to create. It was woven using the intricate resist-dyeing technique and seven artisans meticulously worked on its patterns. She paired the saree with a statement diamond ring and a Ganesha necklace that was made from ultra-rare conch pearls. She also went with stacked bangles and minimal makeup. She left her hair open.
For her second look, she opted for a handwoven Murshidabad silk saree from Swadesh Online. The light-hued saree featured traditional hand block printing in hues of orange and pink. She paired this saree with a Kundan necklace, matching earrings, stacked bangles, and oval-shaped sunglasses. She tied her hair in a bun and adorned it with a gajra. She went with her signature makeup look and was a vision to behold.
