Only One Couple from ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 8 Is Still Together
With another contentious reunion episode behind us, Love Is Blind season eight has officially come to a close—and, much like season seven, only one couple was still together when they sat down to reminisce with Nick and Vanessa Lachey. That distinction, of course, goes to Daniel Hastings and Taylor Haag, who have now been married for a whole year, which kind of feels like an eternity in the reality TV universe.
“The last six weeks have been such a whirlwind, but the most incredible whirlwind,” Haag said at the alter during the season finale. “I would do it a million times over to find Daniel. I have never in any relationship felt this loved and secure.”
As for the other contestants? Let’s just say they didn’t quite get their happily ever after this time around. Ahead, an update on all five couples from season eight of Love Is Blind.
Daniel Hastings and Taylor Haag
Netflix
Starting with the sole married couple, Hastings and Haag are apparently so in love that he got a giant tattoo of her eyes on his chest. In other news, the happy pair also bought a house together in Minneapolis. “The next step is to get a dog,” Hastings said. “then we do want to start a family.”
It’s a conversation that the pair had early on: Haag recalled the moment when Hastings looked at her and said, “I can’t wait to have kids with you.”
“Again, [it was] nothing that any man has ever said to me,” she said. “He just treats my soul so well.”
Sara Carton and Ben Mezzenga

Despite saying “I do” on the season eight finale, Sara Carton and Ben Mezzenga did not go the distance in the long run. Apparently politics were to blame, but during the reunion, Carton revealed that Mezzenga “ghosted” her after they planned to move to Nashville for her nursing job and eventually broke up with her for good via “three very scripted apologies.” “I felt like I was completely love bombed,” she said. “I fell for it.”
Mezzenga, meanwhile, was caught off guard by their contentious reunion. “I just did not expect her to come at me like she did,” he said. “She’s had multiple chances to be graceful with me … but instead she chose to just bury me even more.”
Devin Buckley and Virginia Miller
Netflix
Disagreements over politics, religion, and money ultimately broke the bond between Devin Buckley and Virginia Miller, and perhaps their breakup came as no surprise to reunion watchers, who witnessed Miller sob on the morning of her wedding. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t end well.)
Miller revealed even more details about their split at the reunion, blaming Buckley for attempting to hide his conservative beliefs, along with a $1000 check that was supposed to be a gift to the couple.
Monica Danús and Joey Leveille
Netflix
Monica Danús and Joey Leveille appear to have had a series of miscommunications that were eventually aired out on television during the season eight finale. Most notably, it dawned on Danús that maybe Leveille wasn’t actually interested in her at all; she accused him of flirting with fellow cast member Madison in the days leading up to their wedding. Those suspicions were all but confirmed when Leveille said he just wanted to be friends immediately after the show.
Watching the show back was “embarrassing,” Danús said. “[I’m thinking to myself], ‘This man is not interested in you romantically … how could you not see?’”
Lauren O’Brien and Dave Bettenburg

Though things were going well for Lauren O’Brien and Dave Bettenburg (so well, in fact, that O’Brien called them “endgame”), they never actually made it to their wedding day because of Bettenburg (and his sister’s?) discomfort with O’Brien’s past hookup. Long story short, Bettenburg did not back O’Brien when questioned by his family, and the couple split.
“If there was any part of him that wanted to make this work, it was on him, and he never followed up in a mature way—in a way I would need to feel any kind of emotional connection to him,” O’Brien told Tudum after filming concluded. “I want someone to ride for me. A partner who is a teammate is one of my non-negotiables for future relationships.”
For his part, Bettenburg told O’Brien that she was “the one that got away” during the reunion. And though it was too little, too late, the ex-couple are apparently still in touch and regularly texting.
