Oprah Wore the Throw-on-and-Go Travel Outfit I’m Recreating for Upcoming Trips
When I plan a trip, the first thing I think of is my outfits—naturally, as I work in fashion, and my mind is always there. Of course, I get so excited about an itinerary, too, but each activity also requires a coordinating outfit—so, my thoughts go to fashion again. However, one outfit I always get out of the way, since it won’t go into my suitcase, is my airplane and travel look, which always has to be comfy but also cute. I won’t be caught in overly casual sweats nor will I wear jeans on the plane (sorry, not sorry). What I will be caught in is an Oprah-worn ensemble (err, one-piece) that’s so genius. Thanks, Oprah!

Oprah posted an Instagram calling out her first trip to Belgium. Of course, I now also want to plan a trip to Belgium. Destination inspiration aside, the media mogul is holding a container of fries (so relatable and so yummy) in the ‘gram, wearing the ultimate travel look: a belted jumpsuit and white sneakers. In case you needed some inspiration before you board the plane, it just landed (wink, wink).

Oprah’s one-and-done jumpsuit is a travel essential. Her one-piece, crafted from a breezy material, has long sleeves, a zip-up front, and a flattering waist belt, all functional, stylish elements that make this the perfect on-board companion. The breezy material ensures it remains breathable when the cabin air gets stuffy, while the long sleeves keep you warm when the plane A/C gets really harsh (the temperature is also so temperamental on board, too). The front pocket is ideal for quick-to-grab documents, like your boarding pass or passport. Genius, right?
The medium mogul’s one-piece obviously has lots of functional pluses, but the belted waist and versatile design are two stylish facets worth calling out, too. The cinched in mid section offers a flattering touch; keep it unbelted for maximum comfort while sitting on board, then simply tie it for a more fitted look once you deplane. The one-piece also works well with sneakers and heels or flats, alike, which means that if you have somewhere to go right as you land, you can do a simple shoe swap to quickly dress up the look.
Comfort? Check. Versatility? Check. Oprah-worn? A huge plus! As if the style gods heard me, I now have my travel uniform—ahem, a one-and-done jumpsuit—in check. So, shop some jumpsuits I’m taking on board with me, below.
