
Over 210,000 Pounds of Liquid Egg Products Recalled Due To Contamination
Approximately 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products were recently recalled due to possible contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).Cargill Kitchen Solutions recalled the items due to a possible contamination with a cleaning product containing sodium hypochlorite.
The egg substitutes were produced on March 12 and 13, 2025, and were shipped to distributors in Ohio and Texas, as well as to service establishments in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Iowa. It is also possible that the products have been distributed to other states. The affected egg substitutes are labeled with the establishment number “G1804” and include the following products:
- Egg Beaters Original Liquid Egg Substitute in 32-ounce cartons with a use-by date of “AUG 10 2025”
Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Liquid Egg Substitute in 32-ounce cartons with a use-by date of “AUG 09 2025” - Egg Beaters Cage-Free Original Frozen Egg Substitute or Egg Beaters No Enjauladas Original Sutituto De Huevo Congelado in 32-ounce cartons with a use-by date of “MAR 07 2025”
- Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites in 32-ounce cartons with a use-by date of ”AUG 10 2025”
This recall is considered Class III, meaning the health risk associated with eating these egg products should be negligible. No reports of illness or injury after consuming the impacted product have been made. But if you are experiencing any side effects after consuming the recalled liquid eggs, contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible.
