Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Kevin Jay Anik. People reports that Brunson, 35, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce in her March 19 filing. Their date of separation was listed as “TBD.”

Also in the court documents, Brunson said that she and Anik “entered into a postnuptial agreement which governs the disposition of their property,” and will be individually responsible for their attorney fees. She has not yet issued a public statement about the divorce.

Brunson and Anik wed in October 2021, however, little is known about the exact timeline of their relationship, as they preferred to keep their marriage out of the spotlight. In her 2023 Woman of the Year profile for Glamour, the actor/director/creator shared a brief glimpse into their dynamic. Asked how the pair unwind after long days at work, Brunson said that they liked to watch TV and movies together, go to museums, and hang with our friends.

“We have a really good friend group here [in LA], and [we like] doing things like game nights and barbecues and eating,” she said. “We hang in our pool. We hang with our cat.”

In the same interview, she also spoke about recovering from an “end of the world” breakup in college, telling interviewer Kristen Welker that ultimately, she became stronger for it.

“When you piece yourself back together, when you peel yourself off the floor and rebuild yourself, and have friends and community that help you, it’s often hard to get broken like that again,” she said. “I’m not telling everyone to go out there and get their heart broken, but for me, after that, I felt invincible.”

Quinta Brunson’s divorce might be one of her hardest chapters, but we’re hoping she’ll be stronger on the other side.
