Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Buy $13 Million Manhattan Penthouse

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost have a lovely new place to rest their heads in the Big Apple. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Oscar-nominated actor and the Saturday Night Live star, who were wed in 2020, paid $13 million for a prewar penthouse in Manhattan’s Carnegie Hill neighborhood. The sellers of the 6,000-square-foot co-op unit first listed it in 2018 with a $27.5 million asking price, so you could say Johansson and Jost got a deal on the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom dwelling. The 14-room pad last sold in 2006, also for $13 million.

Spanning three floors, the apartment boasts an impressive amount of outdoor space, with five terraces and eight balconies. Six wood-burning fireplaces grace the unit, which rests atop a 1930s structure designed by Rosario Candela.

A private elevator opens into a central gallery where sunlight pools, thanks to floor-to-ceiling French doors that spill out onto a Juliet balcony. An adjacent sprawling living room features Parquet de Versailles floors, Venetian plastered walls, a white marble fireplace, and six more Juliet balconies. Nearby, the formal dining room sports herringbone floors and goatskin-paneled walls, per the listing.

A grand oak-paneled library rests on the opposite side of the gallery, complete with a cozy bookshelf-lined alcove, terrace access, and views of Central Park. The lowest floor is rounded out with a powder room and a well-equipped galley kitchen that seems to stretch on for miles, ending with a breakfast room through a set of bronze and glass pocket doors. The top two levels are devoted to the bedrooms and bathrooms; the primary suite spans the entire top floor, with a sprawling terrace in tow.
