Sentebale appoints Prince William ally as trustee after Prince Harry’s exit

Sentebale, the charity co-founded by Prince Harry, has named lain Rawlinson as a trustee, just as the Duke of Sussex officially stepped down.

Rawlinson, a known associate of Prince William, previously chaired the Tusk Trust conservation charity, a cause closely linked to the Prince of Wales.

Records show Rawlinson’s appointment took effect on March 25, the same day Harry’s departure was made public. His entry marks a significant shift in Sentebale’s leadership amid ongoing internal turmoil and allegations of misconduct.

Harry reportedly resigned in solidarity with fellow trustees who left after tensions escalated with the charity’s chair, Sophie Chandauka.

Chandauka, a Zimbabwe-born lawyer, has made serious accusations against Sentebale’s leadership, citing issues such as weak governance, abuse of power, bullying, and discrimination.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Chandauka also claimed that Harry’s public image has negatively impacted Sentebale’s ability to secure diverse donors and recruit senior executives.

She described the organisations biggest risk as being tied to the controversy surrounding its royal patron.

With dese developments, Sentebale faces heightened scrutiny over its internal management and the impact of Harry’s departure on its future direction.
