Seth Rogen had to quit smoking — at least in this one country.

During a chat on The Howard Stern Show on March 26, the Superbad star opened up about his cannabis habits, admitting there was one place on Earth where he had to put the joint down, Singapore.

“I think in 2012, 2011, I was in Singapore for three days so those days I didn’t smoke weed because they will literally f—–g kill you if you smoke in that country,” Rogen laughed, recalling the country’s famously strict drug laws. 

“They put a little thing in your passport when you arrive that says ‘If we find drugs on you we will execute you.’”

Rogen admitted he’s had his fair share of close calls while traveling, sometimes realizing too late that he’s unknowingly carried a leftover “roach” in his pocket.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen in Singapore. “That was a scary walk through the airport in Singapore,” he joked.

Cannabis laws in the country aren’t just strict—they’re extreme. The Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore enforces penalties ranging from fines to life imprisonment, and in some cases, the death penalty for trafficking or importing.

Howard Stern chimed in, saying the harsh laws seemed to work as a “good deterrent.” 

Rogen agreed, laughing, “If you ever have a drug problem, go to Singapore.”

Still, the Pineapple Express star insisted he didn’t struggle with quitting cold turkey for a few days. 

“There’s plenty of other things to get,” he added. “Luckily, you can just drink yourself into oblivion. They don’t give a s— about that.”
