Swiffer Just Gave Its Iconic Sweeper a Makeover for the First Time in 25 Years
Swiffer revolutionized the way people clean homes with their convenient mops and dusters. Now, the brand is bringing even more power and ease to your cleaning routine with the Sweep + Mop Deluxe.
This is the first makeover to the classic Sweeper in over 25 years, introducing a sturdier, collapsible design. Pair the new product with Swiffer’s new heavy-duty wet cloths designed to clean up everyday messes and latest dry sweeping cloths ideal for quick dust and hair pick-up, and you’ll have the cleanest floors with just one tool. Here’s what’s new and where you can buy the products.
Swiffer
The biggest change to the new Swiffer model is that it folds to half its size for easy storage, which is especially helpful in cramped spaces. You could even store it under the sink in most cases. The stick is also stronger, meaning you won’t accidentally snap it during a particularly intense cleaning session.
Like the original, the cleaning head has a 360-degree swivel function, so you can tip the edge of the mop on its side to tackle hard-to-clean spills with the textured edge of the wet cloths. But on the deluxe version, you can also lock it in a certain position for easier scrubbing.
Swiffer says their new heavy-duty wet cloths will scrub 75% better and eliminate 50% more sticky messes, so you won’t need to pull out a traditional mop when things go awry in the kitchen. The dual cleaner will fit their heavy-duty dry sweeping cloths, too, which the company says will pick up 2 times more dirt, hair, and dust.
Unlike the brand’s PowerMop, this model relies solely on disposable cloths to clean and doesn’t have a built-in sprayer.
When the New Products Will Be Available
The new Sweep + Mop Deluxe kit costs between $20 and $22 (MSRP) and is available for pre-order now on Amazon. This price point makes it an affordable, entry-level cleaner ideal for apartment owners or those with hard surfaces. The kit includes the new sweeper, plus wet mopping cloths and the new heavy-duty dry cloths.
You can also purchase the new heavy-duty wet and dry cloth refills separately, and you should expect to see the new Sweep + Mop Deluxe kit popping up in stores nationwide (and online) at Walmart on April 5 and online on Amazon starting April 13.
