Taylor Swift Returned to Instagram to Hype Up Selena Gomez’s New Album
Once a Swiftie squad member, always a Swiftie squad member. Taylor Swift proved she’s one of Selena Gomez’s biggest cheerleaders as she broke her social media posting hiatus to share her thoughts on her longtime BFF’s newest album, I Said I Love You First. Swift–who’s been missing from the spotlight since her February Super Bowl appearance–returned to Instagram for the first time in months to hype up Gomez’s latest discography.
As Gomez celebrated the release of her first album in five years since 2020’s Rare, Swift showed she’s the ultimate Selenator as she shared her review of Gomez and Benny Blanco’s joint musical project I Said I Love You First–her first social media post in 100 days.

“@selenagomez & @bennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH,” the “Cruel Summer” singer gushed in an Instagram Story post shared on Saturday, March 22. “OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD,” she added, emphasizing just how much she was fangirling over Gomez’s latest EP.

Swift encouraged others to listen to I Said I Love You First, posting a photo of the album’s cover as well as a link to the album, which includes songs like “How Does It Feel To Be Forgotten” and “Sunset Blvd.” Gomez quickly returned the love, reposting Swift’s message on her own Instagram Story, writing, “Love you, Tay.”

The support appears to go both ways, as Blanco recently revealed that Gomez helped him become a Taylor Swift fan during a joint episode of Hot Ones. “Obviously, I was aware of Taylor Swift’s music, but I wasn’t a true Swiftie,” the music producer shared. “Now we’re in the car singing Taylor Swift’s songs from like 10 years ago, and I feel free.”

Swift previously took to Instagram in December to celebrate the news of Gomez’s engagement to Blanco. As the “Good For You” singer shared a sweet look at her Taco Bell picnic proposal and her multi-watt marquise diamond engagement ring, the “Bad Blood” singer joked in the comments, “Yes I will be the flower girl.”
