The 2025 Design Trend You Have to Try Based on Your Zodiac Sign
Japandi style, the fisherman aesthetic, and colors of the year (mocha brown, anyone?) lead the top design trends for 2025. While last year’s homes were filled with coastal grandmother accents and the coquette core aesthetic, these early months of 2025 have presented new and exciting opportunities to make your home uniquely yours.
Pinpointing a style for your home can be daunting, especially when you want it to be long-lasting. For personalized guidance, skip the endless scrolling and turn to your astrological birth chart. Categorized by personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses, zodiac signs are a way to understand your behavior and interests more clearly—and predict which design trend suits you based on these factors.
While stark differences exist between the fiercest of Aries and intuitive Cancers, certain signs like Taurus and Libra blur the lines of distinct personalities. We spoke with Los Angeles-based astrologer, writer, and tarot reader Meghan Rose (@the_meghanrose) on the signs’ destined decor inspiration—plus how they can incorporate it in their home.

Aries (March 21-April 19): Color Drenching
Represented by the fearless ram, Aries is bold, ambitious, and nothing short of direct. As Rose says, this sign does not do things halfway—and that includes home decor. If a room is missing this passionate and energetic Aries feel, an accent wall won’t do them justice. Instead, color drenching would best fit the sign—think monochromatic hues on the walls, ceiling, trimmings, and even furniture.
“Whether it’s a room bathed in crimson or a cobalt blue statement wall, color-drenching mirrors their direct, no-nonsense approach to life,” says Rose. “But the real question is: why settle for an accent wall when you could have an entire statement home?

Taurus (April 20-May 20): Japandi Style
Tauruses are the grounded souls of the zodiac signs, where serenity and calmness go hand-in-hand. They dabble in luxe accents here and there, but it’s always subtle. Japandi style pairs well with the Zen sign because it incorporates neutral color palettes and evokes a peaceful atmosphere. Picture this: light brown wooden furniture, black stone accents, and plenty of foliage or branches.
“Think soft earth tones, natural materials, and an effortless sense of tranquility. The key here? A perfectly curated space that whispers luxury without trying too hard or foregoing enjoyment,” says Rose.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): Primary Play
You probably have someone in your life who never lost the glimmering, goofy (and a little messy) inner child in them—and they’re most likely a Gemini. Primary Play is quintessentially Gemini for many reasons: it’s vibrant, high-spirited, and promotes painting outside the lines. This design trend is illustrated through murals, painted furniture, and pops of color, but not limited to just these. The home is a Gemini’s canvas, and this trend provides them with the tools to create a masterpiece.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): Fisherman Aesthetic
Intuitive, nurturing, and yearning for a cozy lifestyle, Cancers are fishermen at heart. They are the captains of loyalty and empathy and are, therefore, in search of a comforting nook in which to bond with families and friends. And don’t confuse this style with overly nautical, beachy aesthetics. The fisherman aesthetic boasts laidback motifs without all the hooks and ropes.
“Cable-knit textures, warm plaids, and subtle nautical nods create a home that feels like a seaside retreat—ideal for their nurturing, homebody heart,” says Rose. “Add a vintage lantern or two, and you’ve got the perfect ambience for a deep, soul-baring chat.”

Leo (July 23-August 22): Country Club Aesthetic
“With rich wood finishes, classic preppy details, and an air of exclusivity, the Country Club aesthetic has Leo written all over it,” says Rose. “Whether hosting or just lounging in monogrammed silk pajamas, this look keeps their space as grand and dramatic as their presence.”
The country club aesthetic goes beyond the greens and into homes, specifically those of Leos. These natural-born leaders love a hint of dramatics, and this aesthetic is a new way to add to the luxe lifestyles Leos tend to possess. To transform a home into a Leo’s sanctuary, layer plaid and moody colors. Incorporate grandiose accents like opulent chandeliers, old-world upholstery, and ornate picture frames.

Virgo (August 23-September 22): Curved Furniture
This earth sign is modest and practical, which is why decor like a curved boucle chair is in character for Virgos. Virgos are simple beings and can do without chunky, cluttered furniture. Curved pieces seamlessly blend into a space while still elevating it, making for the perfect subtle addition.
“Sleek, structured, and effortlessly functional, adding curved furniture into their space appeals to a Virgo’s love of meticulous and thoughtful design elements. There’s no unnecessary clutter or chaos, just beautifully engineered pieces that soften a space without sacrificing functionality,” says Rose.
Libra (September 23-October 22): Moto Boho Style
“Moto boho layers delicate lace with leather, sleek metals with warm neutrals, and vintage with modern to give a look that’s equal parts romantic and rebellious,” says Rose.
Libras appreciate stability and balance in life, and moto boho offers the perfect harmony of edgy and eclectic. The decor trend is a “well-calibrated aesthetic equation” that will satisfy Libra. This sign is also known as the mediator, thanks to their ability to see different perspectives, and the contrasting moto and boho styles fuse in a way a Libra can make happen. Not to mention, this style pulls inspiration from the chunkiest of moto boots and fringe skirts—all items this fashionable sign can rock.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21): Rich Browns
There’s something magnetic and warm about rich browns, similar to how one would describe the charismatic Scorpio. The recent boom in browns (a result of multiple paint brands announcing brown as 2025’s color of the year) makes for an easy color choice by the water sign.
“Adding rich brown tones to your space is a perfect manifestation of your intensity,” says Rose. “Whether it’s moody espresso walls, luxe chocolate hues, or vintage cognac leather, this trend creates a space that feels both mysterious and indulgent.”

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21): Retro Decor
“Retro decor is a trend that pulls from the past but keeps things fresh in the present,” says Rose. “Whether it’s velvet, midcentury modern fixtures, or a groovy color palette, taking this nostalgic and eclectic approach brings the perfect backdrop for their latest travel stories and catch-ups with friends.”
Sagittarius is a fire sign known for its adventurous, travel-yearning, and curious characteristics. Sagittariuses should shake up timelines with retro decor and go against the grain to live in aesthetics that stick out to them. Being leaders at heart who pave their own path, a Sagittarius may be intrigued by the allure of retro decor’s bright colors and funky designs.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19): Quiet Luxury
Hardworking, practical, and realistic are a few of the many traits a Capricorn possesses. This earth sign doesn’t care for showy appearances but still wants to revel in their successes, which is why quiet luxury fits best.
Decorating for this design trend is as simple as a cashmere throw and standout couch, according to Rose. Think hand-tufted or leather statement sofas, neutral palettes, and solid wood flooring. In the kitchen, marble countertops, decadent light fixtures, and clutter-free cabinets will put a Capricorn’s mind at ease.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18): Y3K
An Aquarius knows no limits regarding innovation and creative thinking. Y3K, a sleek, cutting-edge decor trend, is the perfect atmosphere for this sign to get creativity flowing. An ideal setup features unexpected abstract paintings, geometric light fixtures, and integrated tech.
“Some people still don’t know about it [Y3K], making it perfect for an Aquarius, who doesn’t want to be figured out or understood by just anyone. Metallic finishes and tech-forward designs make your home feel like a glimpse into the future. If anyone can pull off a neon-lit statement chair or a surrealist coffee table, it’s you,” says Rose.

Pisces (February 19-March 20): Biophilic Design
Compassionate, nurturing, and spiritual, Pisces are born for the great outdoors. The water sign seeks deeper meanings and can’t help but lull off into a dream world, making biophilic design a perfect atmosphere for boundless imagination. This trend can be achieved with live plants, earthy tones, and natural elements like wood. Rose says floor-to-ceiling palms, waterfall features, and grounding palettes will turn this trend into a reality, along with plenty of natural light.
