The hunt for the House & Garden x Savills Project of the Year 2026 is on – could your house be it?

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Savills: an open competition in which we urge talented home owners as well as architects and designers to enter the project they feel most proud of. We are looking for homes of all shapes and sizes, styles and types, which show design excellence, ambition, imagination, a strong sense of style and a sensitivity to place. Our panel of judges will visit a shortlist of properties, with three finalists named in January 2026. The winner will be announced at the House & Garden Design Awards in the spring and the project will be featured in the June 2026 issue.

In the application form at the bottom of this article, you have the chance to tell us what sets your project apart. It could be that the decoration of the house has been especially extraordinary, it could be the architecture, or it could be a combination of both, but we want to know why it’s an interesting story. Who has contributed to it, from architects and interior designers to builders and craftspeople? What challenges have there been along the way, and what are the elements that make you especially proud? We want to know about the context of the house – how does it fit into its setting and landscape? Is it a house with history or is it something you have built from scratch? Anything that makes the house special is of interest: perhaps it features exciting innovations on the sustainability front or an especially sensitive approach to restoration. And of course let us know about the facts and figures: how long did it take and how much did it cost?

Filling out the form below will send your story to our panel of judges – and may the best house win.
